Plans & limits

Testlie has four plans. This table is generated from the same plan definitions the server enforces, so it is always current; the pricing page has the prices and a side-by-side comparison.

How limits work

Counted resources (inboxes, team members including pending invitations, mock identity providers, API mocks (payment gateways and the other API mocks), webhooks, API keys): creating one more than the plan allows is refused with 402 and "code": "quota_exceeded". Nothing existing is removed when you downgrade, but you cannot add more until you are under the limit.

Messages per month: every message stored in an inbox counts, whether it came over SMTP, to an inbound address or from Send a test email. A message stored in two inboxes counts twice. Once the quota is used up, the SMTP server answers 550 and the test-message endpoint answers 402 until the next calendar month (UTC) or an upgrade. Messages you already have are kept.

API mock calls per month: every call to an API mock (payment gateways included) counts, whatever it answers. All categories share one pool, as do the API mocks themselves. Once the quota is used up, calls get the provider's own rate-limit error (429) until the next calendar month (UTC) or an upgrade. Webhooks that API mocks send to your app (Stripe events, KYC results, DocuSign Connect...) are part of the mock: they work on every plan, Free included, and do not count. They are separate from the Webhooks feature below, which is Testlie's own event notifications.

Messages kept per inbox: each inbox keeps at most this many messages (or its own lower Message limit); the oldest are removed as new ones arrive.

Retention: messages older than the plan's retention are deleted automatically, checked every ten minutes. The same applies to API mock calls, webhooks and the objects mocks keep (customers, envelopes, records...): on Free, a record your tests created is gone after 3 days. Each mock also keeps at most its newest 5,000 objects.

Largest message and SMTP messages per inbox per minute are enforced by the SMTP server with 552 and 451 replies. A 451 is temporary: well-behaved mail libraries retry, and the next minute the inbox accepts mail again.

Forwarded recipients per day: one message forwarded to three addresses counts three. The counter resets at midnight UTC.

Features: webhooks (Testlie's own event notifications, not the webhooks API mocks send), forwarding and protected mock IdPs start with Team; team single sign-on with Business. Using a feature your plan lacks answers 402 with "code": "feature_unavailable".

Enterprise

Enterprise plans have custom limits on any of the above, plus an SLA, data residency and a negotiated DPA. Contact us from the pricing page.
